Skin Needling – Pre & Post Treatment Care

At Seamless Skin Clinic, we offer advanced Skin Needling (Microneedling) treatments to improve skin texture, boost collagen production, and enhance overall skin health. To achieve the best results and ensure a smooth recovery, please follow the pre- and post-care guidelines below.

Pre-Treatment Instructions

One Week Before Treatment

  • Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and fake tan on the treatment area. Skin should not be sunburned or irritated before treatment.

  • Discontinue the use of retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C, and other exfoliating or active skincare ingredients to prevent skin sensitivity.

  • Do not undergo waxing, laser treatments, or any harsh exfoliation on the area being treated.

  • If prone to cold sores, consult your doctor about taking antiviral medication to prevent an outbreak.

24-48 Hours Before Treatment

  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine, as they may increase skin sensitivity.

  • Drink plenty of water to keep the skin well-hydrated.

  • If desired, apply a numbing cream (such as EMLA) 30-60 minutes before your appointment, if recommended by your therapist.

  • Arrive with clean skin, free from makeup, lotion, or sunscreen.

Post-Treatment Care

Proper aftercare is essential to ensure healing and maximize results.

Immediately After Treatment

  • The skin will appear red and feel warm, similar to a mild sunburn. This is normal and will subside within 24-48 hours.

  • Minor swelling and sensitivity may occur, especially in delicate areas.

  • Avoid touching your face or applying any products unless advised.

First 24-48 Hours

  • Keep the skin clean and dry. Use a gentle, non-active cleanser if needed.

  • Apply only recommended post-care products, such as hyaluronic acid or a soothing serum provided by your therapist.

  • Avoid makeup, sunscreen, or any harsh skincare products during this period.

  • Refrain from intense exercise, sweating, hot showers, or saunas, as heat may cause irritation.

Days 3-7 After Treatment

  • Mild flaking or peeling may occur as the skin renews itself. Do not pick or scratch at any peeling skin.

  • Continue using hydrating and gentle skincare products. Avoid retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and other exfoliants until your skin fully heals.

  • You may begin wearing mineral-based sunscreen (SPF 50+) and light, non-comedogenic makeup if needed.

One Week After Treatment

  • Your skin should be calmer, smoother, and more radiant.

  • You can resume active skincare products such as vitamin C and retinol, as advised by your therapist.

  • Continue daily sunscreen use to protect your results.

  • Severe swelling, prolonged redness, or unusual discomfort beyond the expected healing time.
