Diode Laser Skin Rejuvenation – Pre & Post Treatment Care
At Seamless Skin Clinic, we offer Diode Laser Skin Rejuvenation to help you achieve smoother, healthier, and more youthful skin. This non-invasive treatment improves skin texture, reduces fine lines, and targets pigmentation. For the best results and a smooth recovery, please follow the pre- and post-care guidelines below.
Pre-Treatment Instructions
One Week Before Treatment
-
Avoid sun exposure and tanning (including tanning beds and fake tan) on the treatment area. Sunburned or irritated skin may increase the risk of complications and reduce treatment effectiveness.
-
Discontinue the use of active skincare ingredients, such as retinol, AHAs, BHAs, or other exfoliants, at least three days before treatment.
-
Do not undergo waxing, chemical peels, or other skin treatments that may irritate the skin before your session.
-
If you are prone to cold sores, consider taking antiviral medication as recommended by your doctor.
24-48 Hours Before Treatment
-
Shave the treatment area if necessary (avoid waxing or plucking).
-
Hydrate your skin by drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your session.
-
Avoid the use of makeup, lotions, deodorants, or perfumes on the day of treatment to ensure clean, dry skin.
-
Avoid excessive alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before treatment to reduce skin sensitivity.
On the Day of Treatment
-
Arrive with clean skin – ensure there is no makeup, cream, or deodorant on the treatment area.
-
Wear loose, comfortable clothing to prevent irritation in the treated area.
-
Inform your therapist about any recent sun exposure, skincare changes, or underlying skin conditions.
Post-Treatment Care
Proper aftercare is essential to ensure healing and maximize results.
Immediately After Treatment
-
Redness and mild swelling may occur in the treated area and is typical. These effects should subside within 1-2 hours.
-
You may experience a sensation similar to a slight sunburn, which is normal and temporary.
-
Cool compresses or soothing gels (like aloe vera) can be applied to ease discomfort if needed.
First 24-48 Hours
-
Avoid sun exposure and apply a high SPF (50+) sunscreen to protect the treated area.
-
Refrain from applying makeup or other skincare products until your skin feels calm and any redness has subsided.
-
Avoid hot showers, saunas, and intense physical activities that may cause excessive sweating, as these could irritate the treated skin.
-
Hydrate your skin using gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizers recommended by your therapist.
Days 3-7 After Treatment
-
Gentle exfoliation can be performed once your skin feels comfortable, but avoid aggressive scrubbing.
-
Avoid active ingredients like retinol, glycolic acid, and vitamin C during the first 5-7 days.
-
Continue to use sunscreen daily to prevent pigmentation changes.
-
You may start wearing mineral-based makeup once the initial redness and irritation have gone down.
Long-Term Care
-
To maintain the results, it’s important to continue a good skincare routine including sunscreen, hydration, and appropriate anti-aging products.
-
Follow-up treatments may be recommended every 4-6 weeks, depending on your skin goals and therapist's advice.
