Chemical Peels – Pre & Post Treatment Care
Everything you need to know before and after your peel to maximise results, support healing, and keep your skin glowing safely. Please follow these guidelines to ensure the best outcome.
Pre-Treatment Instructions
To ensure optimal results and minimise irritation:
-
Avoid using retinol, vitamin A, exfoliants, or active skincare (e.g. AHAs, BHAs, benzoyl peroxide) for 3–5 daysbefore your treatment.
-
Avoid waxing, laser, or hair removal creams on the treatment area for at least 7 days prior.
-
Avoid excessive sun exposure or tanning for at least 1 week before your appointment.
-
Do not schedule your peel if you have any active cold sores, sunburn, open wounds, or skin infections.
-
Let us know if you're using any prescription skincare (e.g. Roaccutane, antibiotics, steroid creams).
Post-Treatment Care
To support healing and prevent complications:
-
Avoid active skincare products (e.g. retinols, exfoliants, acids) for 5–7 days post-treatment.
-
Wear a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ daily and avoid direct sun exposure.
-
Keep your skin well-hydrated with a gentle, nourishing moisturiser.
-
Do not pick, scratch, or exfoliate peeling or flaking skin — allow it to shed naturally.
-
Avoid saunas, steam rooms, heavy workouts or hot showers for 48 hours.
-
Makeup should be avoided for at least 24 hours, or longer if sensitivity is present.
-
Mild redness, dryness or flaking is normal — contact us if you experience prolonged irritation or discomfort.
